Man charged after he bit and spat at a security guard in Surfers Paradise this morning

 

A MAN who bit and spat at a security guard in Surfers Paradise this morning has been charged.

Police say a 34-year-old man got into an argument about a ticket with a staff of a transport company about 10.30am this morning on Beach Road.

The argument got out of control and a security guard tried to escort him from the premises.

The man allegedly became aggressive towards the security guard and allegedly spat at him and then bit him on the arm.

Police attended soon after and took the man into custody.

A 42-year-old Upper Coomera man received medical treatment from a doctor for a bite as well as bruising and contusions.

A 34-year-old Scrubby Creek man has been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and public nuisance.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
